The All Star Break – The Bet Update

Saturday, July 9th, 2005

I’m heading out of town for 10 days starting tomorrow morning so I’m doing the best I can with an all star break update. In the old days who ever was behind at the all star break would host an “All Star Dinner.” The two families would get together to watch the game and the host would be in charge of suppling a full array of ball-park food. As you maybe able to surmise, Jerry had more experience as the host than i did and I must say he always did a very good job as host. I can’t remember a time that I sent him to the snack bar and he failed to bring back just what i ordered. I’m sure this year’s All Star game will match some of the great games of history?

Well this year I am up by 33 points with two sets of games to go before the break and I am going to be in California on the day of the game. unfortunately, I will be in meetings and can’t experience the thrill of ordering nachos with peppers and knowing that Jerry is prepared for that order and any other I might make. Oh, well maybe some other year.

Here’s to a great second half.

Is there a lawyer in the house?

Saturday, July 9th, 2005

We had a early birthday party for June last night. Trav, Rachel, Chels182, Scott (AKA Sammy the Cat), Nicole, Orval and Susan came over for BBQ, and a look at the VCD of the Colorado trip. We had lots of fun. Nicole was in rare form, I think that she is about ready to start a class action lawsuit against dry cleaners because they charge more for a women’s blouse than a man’s shirt. I’d say good luck but I don’t think there is much of a chance. Here’s a picture of Nicole taken before she started law school She may be the youngest in her class.

Ok here is a little more recent photo – last christmas with her cat cloe:

Getting Ready for Santa Fe

Wednesday, July 6th, 2005

Here is one place I’m considering – I know it’s not very expensive but it sure looks good:

THE OLD HOUSE 995-4530 at the Eldorado Hotel AAA 4-Diamond restaurant. Zagat’s top choice for New Mexico dining. A wine list honored by Wine Spectator. Seasonally changing menu by Chef Martin Rios, New Mexico’s 2000 Chef of the Year and 2002 winner of the Robert Mondavi Culinary Award of Excellence. Taste why locals consider The Old House one of Santa Fe’s top choices.

Dinner: 5:30-10pm nightly. Lounge opens at 4:30pm. Dinner: $22-29 AMEX, MC, Visa, Discover, Diners. Local checks. Full service bar. Reservations recommended. HA. Valet Parking Open on holidays. 309 West San Francisco Street

Royals Win – the Bet

Wednesday, July 6th, 2005

I think the Royals should give Trav and me season tickets. Last night’s game was the 4th we’ve been to this year and the 3rd time we’ve witnessed a Royals victory. there is only one way this kind of success can be explained and it isn’t luck! I forgot to take my camera so i might not post a picture but i’m sure that travis will put one up on his flicker page.

oh, yes the bet – Even though i was on vacation i was able to increase my lead to 31. With the all-star break coming up i’m feeling pretty good. there has only been one time int the bets 22 year history that the lead has changed after the all star break. i’m not saying that Jerry has lost again, but I am looking for expensive places to eat in Santa Fe.

Vacation Update

Sunday, July 3rd, 2005

We got back a little early from vacation – we are very worn out – so I hope that a picture is worth 1,000 words, if so i’ve got it covered.
