First off, take a look at the new and improved Bet Tracking site that Travis completed this weekend! The only thing that could make it better would be to get my teams back in the lead. as of right now I’m 4 behind.
OK, on to the big news, unless you read Scott’s blog you can hear it first here. Chelsea was offered a job at Starside Elementary School in the De Soto, Kansas School District. De Soto is the fastest growing district in the state. She will be teaching first grade and is very excited to get started.
June asked me what I really wanted for my birthday and I told her an iPod. I was thinking it would be way out of her price range with a wedding to pay for and all the expenses around it bitting at our heals. Luckily I was wrong. For a while we considered getting anew computer for upstairs; the iPod won out. We went down to the Plaza to the Apple store yesterday and I picked out a 60G with many of the cool accessories. I charged it up last night and this morning was the first I got to use it. I took a run to Jackson Browne and it was great. The only problem is that I think the music caused me to run a faster pace than my usual slow gaunt. The first time I put the ear buds in June’s ears (to Doctor My Eyes) she immediately said “I’ve got to get one of these!!” We played it through the car stereo all the way to church this morning and had fun with the request function with Chelsea at the controls.
My birthday was last Wednesday. It wasn’t a very good day for me. On Tuesday I drove to Duncan, OK for a couple of Wednesday appointments. Both of the appointments canceled on me and I was left about 400 miles for home without an appointment. On Wednesday I got a call from a broker regarding a deal I’ve been working on for about 6 months and was told it’s a “no deal”. Being in sales is tough, especially accepting a no after working on something for so long. Oh, well, on to the next deal!
June spoke today at the Bonner, Kansas Community of Christ and baked a loaf of strawberry bread for everyone in attendance. As always she did a great job, (with both the speaking and the bread making) I’m very proud of her.
it reached 277 (as of 5/26/06 1:53PM). Dare we hope for 300?
Thanks for the support! As of right now (7:44 AM CST) this photo is up to 188 hits at flickr. if we all work on it we can get it to 200!!!!!
thanks.
We all know (or at least we think we know) that Fox News slants the news as much as they can in favor of President Bush. I think you might be interested in this chart that shows the polling results from all of the various news agencies. This example holds true to what I’ve seen before. Fox has a way of presenting the numbers that make it appear that President Bush is doing better in the opinion of Americans than the rest of the pollsters. I know there is a margin of error or +/- 3% in most national polls and it may be just a coincidence that Fox is always on the high side for Bush, however, watching their news programs enough has convinced me that they have a crew of people whose job is to shape the news to favor the right wing.
Thoughts?
i want to thank my blog readers for helping pass the 100 mark on flickr. a little over a week ago this photo of Chelsea was at 99 hits. I asked for help and Alli was the 100th hit, and many of the rest of you helped me get to 139!!
