July winner announced! Help needed!!!

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

As those faithful readers of the bbb know, in july our announced contest was for the best use of the name “Bill Budroe” on a blog posting. My attempt was to get my friend more recognition on the web. The results put us in a very difficult position. Of all the postings entering the contest the one we here at the bbb thought was best and most creative unfortunately misspelled Bill Budroe and Bill Budro! What should we do in a situation like that? Our goal is to get more web hits for bill – and this didn’t accomplish the goal, but it was so well done!

After many cups of coffee and a couple of long nights around the conference room at the bbb world headquarters we decided to go with our heart and recognize Chels182 as the winner of the July bbb contest. This of course causes us extra problems because we now need to prepare a bio of this Chels182 person, and frankly we don’t know much about her. For this contest winner – and hopefully for this contest winner only, we are asking for your help, loyal reader, does anyone know anything about this Chels182 person that we can publish?

Help Needed From Everyone With A blog. Also a chance to get your bio featured.

I just got back from a week in California for company meetings. One interesting thing my friend Bill Budroe told me is that he has a new girlfriend and she googled him the only reference that came up was an entry on my blog from 2 years ago.

I have a request from all of my readers who have blogs (Jen please let Ben know); the request is simple, please add the name Bill Budroe to your next post. Just in case this girlfriend googles him again – (or if she doesn’t last) I think it would be nice to have more than one entry for Bill on the World Wide Web.

As a way to reward you, the author of best blog entry that features the name Bill Budroe will have their bio featured on the bbb with the normal in-depth coverage associated with this blog.

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU HAVE ALREADY WON, YOU CAN WIN AGAIN!!!!!!! We might not even repeat your bio but make up a whole new one!!!!!

as always thanks.

Silent Joe and 5 1/2 hours in the ER

Wednesday, March 1st, 2006

OK, I haven’t posted for a long time.  Mainly because I don’t really have anything much going on.  I did just get back from a 3 days trip to Phoenix. I had to leave KC at 8:30 to get there in time for my 5:00 meeting  – not much of a flight choice to PHX from MCI.

Tuesday my friend Linda stood up from the lunch and caught her shoe some how and sprained her ankle.  Bill Budroe and I took her to the ER.  The total experience was about 5 1`/2 hours of mostly waiting.  The Xrays were inconclusive but the NP who reviewed them thinks she has a hairline fracture but they won’t be able to tell for sure until Monday when the swelling goes down.  So I missed most of the meeting I went to attend.  I talked to her today and she is still in a lot of pain.

When I was in Lake of the Ozarks last week I went to the outlet mall and bought the book Silent Joe by T. Jefferson Parker.  It was published in 2001, somehow I’d missed it.  It’s the third T. Jefferson Parker book I’ve read this year.  Actually I have about 20 pages left to read until I’m done – should find time to finish it tomorrow before I leave for Muskogee, OK.  Parker is a writer of Southern California (Orange County / San Diego county) Noir Mysteries.   Silent Joe is such an interesting character, I wish he would put him in another book. Parker is one of my top ten writers. Now that I’ve put this long post up I feel I’ve done my duty.  Is anyone still looking at my site or have i let everyone down so much that no ones checks anymore?
