Today I met the fifth graders I will be student teaching next semester in the special ed. classroom. I was there from 12:00 to 12:40 and there were eight kids. The kids seemed great. One little boy talked to me every chance he got and kept asking how long I was staying, if I was coming tomorrow, and when I would come again. He was funny! I think I am going to enjoy teaching there. It was weird to be introduced as Ms. Johnson and to be called that.
I really like the teacher I will be working with. She seems very nice, and she enjoys her job. I think I will learn a lot from her this semester!
The teacher I will be working with took me to all the fifth grade classes so I could meet everyone. One little girl raised her hand and asked if I worked for TLC! She is a little girl I babysat four or five times last summer. I thought that was funny!
I am still scared to be student teaching but excited. It is weird to think I will no longer be going to college classes. I’m sure everyone reading this can remember that feeling.

Christmas Around the World!
Tuesday, December 13th, 2005
Kirsten made an appearance!

Today I taught a lesson to first graders that two friends and I put together about Christmas around the world. We each had our own center that we were in charge of planning. I had Sweden, Ashley had Australia, and Heather had Germany. I think it went really well and the kids enjoyed it. At my center I first taught them about Christmas in Sweden. They then wrote “God Jul†on a Christmas bulb and listened to a book about a Swedish girl at Christmas time. We next played Sweden Christmas Memory to go over what they had learned. Every time they turned over a picture for the first time they had to say how it related to Christmas in Sweden. After that they all said what it would be like if they lived in Sweden at Christmas time. We closed the whole lesson by asking the students if they could spend Christmas anywhere were would it be and why. We were assuming they knew we meant in one of the countries we talked about but one little boy did not because he told us BETHANY!! We thought that was funny!! They then got to decorate cookies…yum!! Of course, they loved this. I was not as nervous for it as I thought I would be. As a result, I was not as relieved as I thought I would be, that it was over. I guess that is good because this is what I will be doing for a long time!
Christmas List

I love these pink pots. If I could choose any pots these would be them! (Christmas hint mom and dad!) They seem to be great quality and a good price. I think they are awesome and would love to have them. I would hang them up in my kitchen like some people do because I love them so much. The one place in my house that I want to go crazy with pink is in the kitchen. I will not let pink take over everything!
I found these pots at Neiman Marcus along with many other cute things. I am showing the knives because that is something in our kitchen that will not be pink. Scott got awesome knives for his birthday. Well, maybe I could get my own set of knives…just kidding!
So, my wish list is all the pink Kitchen Aid pink things and everything else for kitchens that are pink!!

‘Twas the Night

This past weekend was my halls formal on the Plaza. My favorite part was dinner at Buca di Beppo’s. Scott and I sat at a table with six of our friends and had a great time. The dress I wore was from Travis and Rachel’s wedding. The church we slept at was the church they were married in. The two times I wore that dress I went to that church! I am now back at school and working hard. This is my last week of classes!!

There is about an inch of snow on the ground and it is December 1st! It makes me so happy just knowing the holidays are here! I can’t wait to go home and see my pink tree I put up over Thanksgiving. (I also cannot wait to see Scott!)
