gift.jpgToday was my last of my practicum. I am going to miss the kids becasue they are so cute and fun to be around. I had a wonderful experience there and learned so much from my cooperating teacher and the students. One of the students gave me this hat! I can’t wait to go to kindergarten but will be excited to see these kids again.

Valentine’s Decorations!

tree1.jpg
I love my pink Christmas tree, and so I decided to make it a Valentine’s Day tree!  Today Jen (Gabe’s Mom) gave me the idea to make my own ornaments for it instead of buying them.  I thought that was a great idea and had that be my project for the day.  I am happy with how they turned out!  Below are some up close.

I have been student teaching for 3 days now.  All three days have gone well.  I am in the special education fifth grade classroom.  The first week back we have been helping the students complete work that was due before winter break.  I enjoy helping them do work.  Next week Mrs. Williams, the special ed. teacher, will begin teaching lessons again.  I will also teach two lessons.  This will be my first time to teach a lesson by myself, so I am nervous. The students are not always in the resource room (another name for the special ed. room).  I have been roaming the other four fifth grade classrooms a lot watching the teachers teach.  I hope I do not have to do this the whole time I am a student teacher because I think that will get old after nine weeks.

Winter’s Tale

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2006
A book my parents gave me for Christmas was Winter’s Tale (underline that) by Robert Sabuda.  He has made many amazing pop-up books.  This book he wrote and created himself.  The last page of this book is a house with real blinking lights!!  It is so cool.

Tonight we went to Jack Stack to say bye to T&R.

cookie.jpg In 182 days it will be our wedding day!! Yippee! My mom baked a delicious cake and Rachel decorated it. They really surprised Scott and I!! The Lambles came over after Jack Stack and we all ate cookie cake. We had a great night but I am sad that Travis and Rachel are leaving tomorrow morning. =(
