I woke up to my alarm at 5:00 and after about 20 minutes of lying in bed I got up. I immediately looked out the window for snow but when I didn’t see any I was positive there would be school so I started to exercise. At 6:00 my phone rang, and I got the best message…SCHOOL IS CANCELED! I could not believe it but I was excited. I felt just like I did when I was a student and would hear the great news. I love teaching but it’s nice to have a day off. What’s even better it that it’s Scott’s day off as well. He’s sleeping right now but I’m too awake to go back to bed.
This past week was full of tears, hugs, laughs, and smiles. Loosing my Dad-Dad is sad and hard. He was a wonderful Grandfather and I will always cherish my memories of him. The memorial service was very nice. The siblings shared memories of Dad-Dad. It was wonderful to hear their stories. Many of Dad-Dad’s poems were also shared. It was really good to be with my family and our good friends. I pray that when my Grandma and loved ones feel lonely for him they will be comforted by the Holy Spirit. Through all of the sadness we laughed many times. Travis, Rachel and I stayed at Aunt Carol and Uncle John’s. I really enjoyed that because we got in some great visits. During the course of our stay we watched a house become decorated with about 60 different Christmas Decorations. My big accomplishment was driving on a 7 lane highway so Rachel and I could go shopping! I missed Scott while I was gone and am glad to be with him now. I wish that all of my family could live close. Travis and Rachel are two of my best friends and when we get together I feel like we have not been apart. I love being with my Johnson family in California and have enjoyed seeing them more this year! The other plus this Thanksgiving Break was that I saw Nicole on Saturday for her birthday party. I am so Thankful for all of my family.
Today is my wonderful husband’s birthday!! We started celebrating on Saturday with my parents at Cheesecake factory. We then went home to have dessert and open presents. They had a scavenger hunt for Scott to find some of his presents!
Since then he has opened a present from me every day. He is so excited about his birthday, which makes it fun! Today he woke up early to open a present before I went to work. He had to work tonight so tomorrow we are going out to eat for one last celebration. =)
We were hoping Baby Li would share Scott’s birthday….she has 45 minutes left to make that happen!
