HAPPY 25th SCOTT!!!

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

It’s my wonderful husband’s birthday today!!  We had a family party last Saturday when his parent’s were in town!  It was a pirate theme.  My mom went all out and even found this huge Johnny Depp cardboard stand up!

After Scott gets off work today I think he will play with one of his presents- a Playstation 3.  When I get home we are going to go out to dinner and celebrate!

control

This was a video game remote control ornament I gave Scott ’since it was the year he got his PS3.  My favorite part was when Grammy thought it was a remote control for an electric blanket!!  I love family.  They keep you laughing.

No more Christmas music for me this season!!

I-Empire

I started listening to Christmas music a few times a week a little over a month ago!! That is pretty early, but I love the season. Lindsay even sent me a text message a month or so ago and said, “I’m listening to Christmas music at work! It’s about that time of year for us!”

I’m glad now that I started so early, because the NEW Angels and Airwaves CD came out today and I will defiantly be listening to this CD for at least 2 months straight. It is awesome! There is so much excitement in listening to your (2nd) favorite band’s new CD for the first time. Scott and I just bought two other CDs (Just Surrender & Senses Fail) and they don’t compare to AVA’s!! AVA can never replace blink for me, but their music is amazing.

(I”ll still listen to some Christmas music…AVA has a Christmas song on their new CD!)

WW1 Museum

Today we went to the World War 1 Museum with Jim and Kathy. It was very interesting. I can’t imagine what it was like fighting in that war, or any war. “Living half underground in trenches,” not knowing what will happen next, watching friends die by your side, homesick, famished, sick…how sad to know there is a war going on right now.

The entrance to the museum was very cool. There was glass to walk on, and below that was a field of 9,000 poppies. Each flower represented 1,000 combatant deaths during WW1. This awful number did not include people that came home and died from injuries.

We are at the top of the tower. It was pretty neat up there!

Feels like a holiday!

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

For two weeks Scott and I were at my parents house because our hot water heater didn’t work.  We had a great time with them.  My Gramma and Uncle Glenn even came to town for a visit while Scott and I were there!!  It truly felt like a holiday, except when I got up at 5A.M. to go to school!

The fun holiday feeling is continuing on because Jim and Kathy are now visiting Scott and I!  (We have hot water!!)  I am excited for them to be here!

I made this carrot cake for us to enjoy during their visit.  I didn’t quite turn out how I had hoped.  There is a dip in the middle of it and the carrots look a little funny, but besides that I am pleased with it.  (Now I just hope it tastes good!!)
