My last Christmas Present!

charm

Today my last Christmas present from Scott arrived in the mail! It’s this flip-flop charm with “Scott” engraved on the bottom of it. This is a sentimental and perfect gift!

Scott and I bought yellow flip-flop key chains from Old Navy during the first few months we were dating, right before summer. We each wrote our name on the other’s flip-flop. I kept it on my keychain until it broke off. Of course, I still have it! As a joke, Travis and Rachel brought me a flip-flop with their names on the bottom of it when they were in Hawaii, during their honeymoon. That one is in my car.

Christmas 2007

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

I have had a wonderful Christmas break. Scott had the days leading up to Christmas and Christmas Day off, which was awesome! Travis and Rachel arrived the Friday before Christmas. I had a great time hanging out with them. Christmas Eve and Day was perfect. I love our tradition of family spending the night at my parent’s house. My dad put together another great Christmas Eve game. I think everyone had fun playing it. On Christmas morning we took our time opening gifts and sharing what we had gotten with everyone. I love all of my gifts!! Later that day we went to the Mann’s house for a late lunch. The next night Fred, Lu and Isabel came to town for another Christmas celebration. I have really enjoyed this past week since Christmas hanging out with family. We played the Mexican Train Game a lot this week!! One day Travis, Dad and I played it for about 2½ hours. We also went to The Plaza, Town Center, the mall, saw movies, rented movies and played games. Keith and Sarah came to town for a few days! It was great to see them. The guys mostly played video games, so Sarah and I watched movies and shopped! Yesterday we took T&R to the airport, which was a little sad. I had a great break and feel so blessed to have such a wonderful, fun and loving family. Christmas Morning

The excitement of Christmas has continued this past week. We celebrated Christmas with Erin and Kyle one evening this week. We ate dinner and dessert, opened presents and hung out. We toasted to sparkling cider! They just got an adorable little puppy named Hero who came along for the party! On Saturday I helped Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Greg with their Christmas party. I had a great time at it and really enjoyed seeing everyone there! I made the snowman cake for the party. I love the picture of Aunt Jeanne with Riley, Murphy and Macy. (She is dog sitting for Aaron and Heidi right now.) We had a fabulous service today at church with wonderful music and ministry. The president of our church spoke today. I would also have to say the actors in the play did a great job as well…I was Mary! After the service, was our church’s Christmas dinner which was delicious and fun. Tonight, I am going over to my parents because they are having some people from church over. I love this season!

Christmas Celebrations!

Monday, January 1st, 2007

I had a fantastic Christmas break. Grama, Travis and Rachel came to town so Scott and I moved in with my parents for the week so we would not miss out on any of the fun. Unfortunately, Scott had to work some.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day was wonderful. We had a great time together and laughed a lot. We did the usually things…ate, talked, watched a movie on Christmas, opened presents, talked and ate some more.

silly

When it was time for the Li’s to go home Gabe started to cry and “Juju” told Gabe he could stay with us and spend the night. He took my mom up on it. He was so cute and excited when he realized he really was staying with us and Sadie and his parents were going home. We played for a little bit and then he went to bed. He woke Scott and I up early the next morning to play. He is such a sweet little guy.

slumber party

The week after Christmas was just as great. It was nice to spend time with my Grama. I also love hanging out with Travis and Rachel. The week was full of all kinds of excitement. We went to the movies, went shopping, ate on the Plaza, played games and visited my classroom. We also had a cousin’s game night at the Li’s. Three or four nights in a row we played a game called the Settlers of Catan. It is fun but we always started the game late and were tired by the end of it. Rachel and I never understood why we didn’t have good luck with winning.

Libby spent over a week in the hospital and is still there. She is doing better. We have all been keeping her in our thoughts. Hopefully she goes home soon.

chiefs

On New Year’s Eve Scott and I went to our first Chief’s game. My Uncle Fred gave us tickets! That was the most football I have ever watched. It was very cold but we bundled up and had a good time. There was so much excitement in the stadium I don’t know how we couldn’t have had fun. It was a great way to celebrate the New Year! Happy 2007!

In the December 1st post I wrote that mom gave us this cute piggy dressed for the holidays. I failed to include my daders in this. My mom and dad gave me this cute piggy dressed for the holidays. I am very sorry for the mistake!

‘Tis the Season!

Friday, December 1st, 2006

Getting together with family and friends, celebrating the birth of Christ, listening to Christmas music, watching Christmas movies, putting up Christmas decorations, eating delicious treats, driving around to look at Christmas lights, doing advent calendars, drinking hot chocolate and peppermint mochas, having a slumber party on Christmas Eve and kissing under the mistletoe are some of the reasons why I love the holidays! I was ready for this time of year months ago. Happy December 1st!
