Today is Papa’s birthday

Papa3

I have made a list of some of my memories of Papa. I thought today was a good day to share them because it is his birthday. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I liked thinking about them and making the list.

My Memories: -Snuggling in bed w/ Papa and Grammy and playing eye spy -Christmas Mornings: One Christmas morning we all shared a Christmas story. Papa shared a story about when he was a little boy and Papa had to shoot his dog because his dog had killed another animal and had the taste of blood in his mouth. -Playing Hand and Foot- When I was little I couldn’t hold my cards in my hand so I laid them on the table and covered them with a newspaper. Papa would always check to see how many cards I had. -Playing thump and The Mexican Train Game -Sitting on the porch last summer with Papa and Grammy and listening to their stories of when my mom was younger. I really enjoyed that! -Papa built Abby’s pen one summer for us! -Hearing stories of when Papa was a teacher and principal at the same time. He told me that he would put up wires in the school after hours to hang their clothes to dry. As I remember it was a one-room schoolhouse. I wish I could remember how many grades he taught and if he hung his clothes to dry often or if that was just one time. -Once when I was driving to Grammy and Papa’s house I got so lost that Papa finally had to meet me at a McDonald’s right off the freeway. -Watching Papa catch Grammy’s eye and then make a circling motion with his finger around his watch. He would then point to the door. That meant it was time to go! -Papa put in an extra light in Scott’s and my basement so we didn’t have to walk into a dark basement. He also changed the locks when our house was new.

My 25th!

My birthday was not what I expected but I don’t think that day is what anyone was expecting a month or two ago. My day started out with Kelli Wright’s Celebration of Life service. Her passing is devastating to so many people and SO VERY SAD. After the service, I went out to Mimi’s for lunch with Nicole, Jen, Gabe, Sadie and Scott. We had a great time. I love being with my cousins! Then, Scott and I picked up Bailey and went over to my parents. We hung out with them for a little bit. (On Friday night we went to Cheesecake Factory and then to my parent’s house to celebrate with them and Grammy! I had a great time!) For my birthday dinner Scott and I went out with Lindsay and Matthew to the Sushi House. After we walked around Town Center. I had a great time with them!

I forgot to write about my awesome present from Scott.  He gave me this and I LOVE it!

The Dream Team

My Mom, Grandma and I are going to California to participate in a arthritis walk. We are trying to raise money. Please read below.  It will explain more about what we are doing. You may donate here! Thank you in advance for your support!

…California dreamin’… We’re going to California for a very special reason, to participate in the Santa Barbara Arthritis Walk. We are three generations of a family that knew and loved Andy from when he was about three years old. I (Chelsea) was his playmate and school mate when we lived in California. My mom (June) and Andy’s mom, Tere, were and still are best friends so Andy was in our home all the time. My grandma (Isabella) babysat Andy on the day Kristen was born and got to know the whole family over the years. Needless to say our families have shared a very special 22 year friendship. Andy got sick when he was about five years old but always lived life to the fullest. Over the next 14 years arthritis gradually took control of his body but never his courageous spirit. He alwyas had a huge smile on his face for us and a positive attitude. He will remain in our hearts forever and that is why this dream team is California dreamin’. Thousands of people across the country will join together to help improve the lives of 46 million Americans affected with doctor-diagnosed arthritis. The Arthritis Walk will be led by inspirational men, women and children with arthritis. We hope that you will support our efforts.

Bailey with her favorite toy!

We have had Bailey for 7 weeks now and loved almost every minute of it!! She is such a sweet and cute little dog. Bailey did not like walks when we first got her, but she now loves them! My favorite thing is when she gets excited she shakes her little bottom instead of just her tail!  I love being a dog owner.

Weekend182

On Friday night Dad and Mom came over and brought pizza. That was nice of them to bring it to our house! Below is a video of us hanging out. (You can’t really see Bailey in it but Mom is trying to get her to go up the stairs.)

After my parents left Scott and I picked Colin, Scott’s good friend, and Meghan, his girlfriend, up from the airport. We had a great time with them. We went to the movies, out to eat, and played games. We went one other place this weekend. Scott took a picture of me in the building. Who knows where we went? This is not a contest like my Dad’s because it is a much easier question and I can’t afford to give out million dollars!

guess where!

We’ve been here a year!

1 year

One year ago today Scott and I closed on our townhome! I can’t believe we have owned our home for a year now. I love our house and am so happy in it. I think Bailey will enjoy living here as much as we do!

WELCOME KEIRA!!!

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

Today I became an AUNT and Scott became an UNCLE!!!   Keith and Sarah had their adorable little baby this morning at 10:00.  She is 7lbs and 3 oz.  My mom said that was how much I weighed when I was born…she is already wanting to be like her aunt!  I’m just kidding.  She has two wonderful parents that are going to give her the best supportive and loving home possible.  I am so happy and excited for Keith and Sarah and can’t wait to meet Keira in 92 days…the countdown is on!!

Angels and Airwaves in St. Louis!

AVA

This past weekend Scott and I went to St. Louis to see Angels and Airwaves. We had a great time. The concert was AWESOME!! We were as close to the stage as possible, which was exciting. They are an incredible band sending out good messages. It does make me very sad that Blink is not around, but at least AVA is something positive that came from the break up.

After the concert Scott and I stayed with Tristi and her boyfriend Greg. We had a great time with them. They are fun to be with. We went to the movies, played games, went out to eat and watched videos from when Scott and Tristi were younger! I hope to go back and visit them again soon.

We also had lunch with Bret, Julie and Cadence. It was good to see them. Cadence is adorable!!

It was nice to get away this weekend although, we were very anxious to get back to Bailey. She had a fun vacation with my parents!! She ran around the house and snuggled with them a lot. We were very thankful that they took her for us. Thanks Mom and Dad!!

We LOVE Bailey!
